How to write an effective yard sale ad?

Posted on Mar 17th 2021

If you are planning to hold a yard sale, you should do proper advertising of your sale so that buyers show up on the day. Advertising of yard sales is key to sales and good profits.

Right advertising of your yard sale can bring you, potential buyers. Whether you plan to go for an online ad or in person, the signs should be good, and you need to include precise and accurate details.

Here are some essential points that you need to keep in mind for a successful yard sale advertisement.

Include your location:

If you do not include your yard's location in the advertisement, nobody will find it or bother to look for it. At least a street, ideally, and address should be included.

For most people, the subdivision's name (except if it's a neighbourhood-wide sale) isn't sufficient. A few regions may have many roads and many houses. Try not to depend on people realizing that your area is little. Or then again, even where your neighbourhood is.

Today is Thursday, and the ad came out today... in any case, does the sale start today? If you had incorporated your location, I might show up, and you probably won't be prepared.

Include date and time:

Saturday, Sat, 5/28, 5-28 are all adequate. "This weekend" isn't adequately clear. Times are significant as well! Yard sale customers get out right on time. If your sale begins at 6:00 am or then again at 7:00 am, we should go there before the sales start at 8:00 am.

Preferably, include when the sale closes. In case you are getting together around early afternoon, as a customer, I'd usually like to realize that, so I don't squander gas driving there at 1 pm to discover you're finished. Goodness, and it is a standard courtesy to remain open for the times you'd advertised.

Type of yard sale:

Ads are simple. It's ideal to know the types of stuff available to be purchased. However, the primary data is precisely where and when the s sale will be held.

Other supportive stuff to know is if the sale is being held by many families (multi-family), or being held by a gathering, or if it's famous for a neighbourhood-wide sale. Not obligatory, but somewhat supportive. I don't mind when your downpour date is, and I'm not going to write in my schedule for it.
